How to record a property video

We suggest using the video recording device on your mobile phone as it is the easiest way to record a video. With the current mobile phone technology, there is no need to break out a camera or video camera unless you are looking for professional quality videos!

How to Record a video on an iPhone or Android device:

  1. Open up the camera app.
  2. Select the “video” option.
  3. Hit the red button to start/stop recording.

 

How to send the pre-recorded video to a client via text

Sending a video via text is the best option when you are sending a video directly to a client(s).

Sending a Video on an iPhone:

  1. Open up your Photos application and click on the video you want to send.
  2. Hit the “Share”  Share Icon  icon.
  3. Select the “Messages” option.
  4. Type in the desired client and hit the send button.

Sending a Video on an Android device:

  1. Open up your Photos application and click on the video you want to send.
  2. Hit the “Share”  Android Share Icon  icon.
  3. Select the “Message”  Android message icon  icon.
  4. Type in the desired client and hit the send button.

 

YouTube

Once the video is on YouTube or Vimeo, you can easily market the property on all your social media accounts. It is a must do and a great value-add to your landlord!

YouTube is owned by Google, so if you have a Gmail account, you will already be able to upload videos directly to YouTube. 

How to download and start the YouTube app on your mobile device:

  1. On your mobile device, download the YouTube app.
    1. If iPhone: go to “App Store”.
    2. If Android: go to “Google Play Store”.
  2. Open up the YouTube app and click the “User”  YouTube user icon  icon on the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Now, you will need to either (a) sign into your Google (Gmail) account or (b) create an account.

How to Create an account:

  1. Click “Sign-In”.
  2. Click “Create Account”.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to create your new Google (and YouTube) account.

How to “Sign-In”:

  1. Click the “Sign-In” button.
  2. Enter your username (Gmail email address) and password.
  3. You are now logged into YouTube.

How to upload a video to YouTube:

  1. Ensure you are signed into YouTube.
  2. Click on the camera icon on top right of the screen.
  3. YouTube will ask to access your camera, microphone and photos. Click “yes” to allow.
  4. Now, you should see a sample of the videos you have taken on your mobile device, starting with the most recent video. Click on your pre-recorded video and click “next”.
  5. Now you need to enter in your video information.
    1. Title: Make it short and concise.
      1. example: “Beautiful 2BR/2BA rental in Waltham, MA. Available Now”.
    2. Description: Input your listing description.
    3. Privacy: Keep it public. If you select “Private” only people with the link will be able to see it.
    4. Location: Add your location in so nearby renters can find your listing.
  6. Click “Upload” on the right hand corner of screen.

 

Vimeo

Once the video is on YouTube or Vimeo, you can easily market the property on all your social media accounts. It is a must do and a great value-add to your landlord!

How to download Vimeo app on your mobile device:

    1. On your mobile device, download the Vimeo app.
      1.  If iPhone: go to “App Store”.
      2. If Android: go to “Google Play Store”.

How to create an account:

    1. Click “join”.
    2. Enter your name, email and create a password.
    3. You are now logged into Vimeo.

How-to “Sign-In” if you already have a Vimeo account:

    1. Click the “Log in” button.
    2. Enter your username and password.
    3. You are now logged into Vimeo.

How to upload a video to Vimeo:

    1. Ensure you are logged into Vimeo.
    2. Click the  Vimeo Icon  icon.
    3. Click “Allow” under “To upload, allow Vimeo to access your camera roll.”.
    4. Now, you should see a sample of the videos you have taken on your mobile device, starting with the most recent video. Click on your pre-recorded video.
    5. You now have the option to edit the video. If you would like to post without editing, hit “skip”
    6. Now you need to enter in your video information
      1. Title: Make it short and concise
        1. Example: “Beautiful 2BR/2BA rental in Waltham, MA. Available Now”
      2. Description: Input your listing description
      3. Privacy: if “Anyone” is selected, anyone with the link can see the video. This is preferred
    7. Click upload on top right hand side of the screen.
