We love our pets! They’re an integral part of our lives, but when it’s time to sell or rent your property there are things that to consider when showing apartments or homes.

According to the American Pet Product Association, about 67% of households in the USA have a pet. 63.4 million homes own a dog and about 42.7 million owned a cat. With the world shifting to a more work-from-home atmosphere, pet adoption and ownership have become increasingly popular.

Having pets may be great when you have gotten used to their hair, smell, and toys being everywhere; however, this can get in the way of affecting your ability to have a good showing.

Here are some tips that can help you minimize the turn-off a pet brings to a showing and maximize the value of having a pet-friendly home.

  1. Clean your home before a showing. This includes removing any animal scents, fur, toys, etc. Consider getting your property professionally cleaned prior to listing it for rent or sale.
  2. Remove or replace anything that is worse for the wear due to pet damage.
  3. Always relocate your pet during a showing. during a showing.
